League of Private Hospitals in Iraq –NGO held on Saturday, its first forum with broad government participation, while appreciating the government support provided to the private health sector.
“We convey to you the greetings of Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani and his wishes for the forum to succeed,” the representative of the Prime Minister and his advisor for health affairs, Saleh Damad, said in a speech during the first forum of the Association of Private Hospitals, attended by a correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA),”the government has included in its program and one of its most important priorities is the health sector and there are many paragraphs that require support for hospitals in the public and private sector and the establishment and rehabilitation of new hospitals, as well as health insurance and the localization of the pharmaceutical industry.”
"The private health sector is an important and essential partner in developing health care, because globally the private sector represents about 60%, and therefore developing it in Iraq is one of the most important things that the government has adopted," he added, "we hope that the association will develop the private sector in Iraq and the government will support and assist you in everything you need."
"The government's support for the pharmaceutical industry was clear and it worked to improve the localization situation and it has reached an important stage," he pointed out "the private health sector is complementary to the public sector and in the world there are many capabilities and advanced technology that is more flexible and possible and its support is a government priority."

For his part, the head of the Association of Private Hospitals in Iraq, Rafeh Al-Rawi, indicated that "the establishment of hospitals in Iraq has developed significantly during the recent period and there are more than 150 hospitals in Iraq," adding that "this matter requires support from state departments and legislative bodies, which is why this association was established."
