Iraqi Minister of Justice Khaled Shawani met with his Algerian counterpart, Lotfi Boudjemaa, to explore ways for enhanced cooperation and coordination in the judicial and legal sectors.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Justice’s Media and Government Communication Department, which received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the two ministers discussed potential agreements aimed at strengthening judicial ties and serving the mutual interests of both nations.
The meeting took place during the 40th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice, hosted in Egypt, where both ministers are currently participating.
The statement further outlined that the discussions focused on activating existing agreements, particularly the one related to the exchange of prisoners, and exploring opportunities for the exchange of expertise in order to stay abreast of the latest developments in judicial practices. This initiative aims to further enhance and solidify the relationship between Iraq and Algeria.
