The head of Christian, Yazidi and Sabean-Mandaean religion Endowment, Rami Joseph, stressed the need to work on protecting holy sites and places of worship, supporting peaceful coexistence, consolidating the values of peace, and contributing to building a unified Iraq in which peace and development prevail.
During the first annual forum (Together for Peace), the role of the religious institution in promoting citizenship and coexistence, attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Joseph said: “This meeting expresses the essence of our message as heavenly religions and human societies that gathered on the land of Iraq, the land of prophets and civilizations, to confirm that peace is the only option to achieve a bright future for future generations.”
Stressing that "the Diwan works to protect sanctities and places of worship to continue the rituals of worship, as well as support peaceful coexistence and promote the values of dialogue and respect among the components of Iraqi society."
He noted that "the Diwan of Religious Endowments provided humanitarian and social support to communities affected by conflicts and displacement in cooperation with relevant authorities, as well as preserving the religious and cultural heritage of these components to ensure the continuity of building future generations, and works in coordination with governmental and international bodies to ensure the achievement of justice and equality for all and contribute to building a unified Iraq in which peace and development prevail."
