Defense Minister arrives at West Nineveh Ops sector in Sinjar

Defense Minister Thabit Mohammed Saeed Al-Abbasi arrived on Saturday, accompanied by a high-level security delegation, to the West Nineveh operations sector in Sinjar, to oversee the security situation and inspect the border strip between Iraq and Syria.

“Minister Al-Abbasi arrived at the West Nineveh operations sector in Sinjar, accompanied by the deputy chief of staff of the army for operations, joint operations, and the commander of the ground forces,” stated the Ministry of Defense in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

“The visit came to oversee the security situation in the sector and inspect the border strip between Iraq and Syria,” the statement added.
