Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed to his Syrian counterpart Bassam Sabbagh, today, Friday, that reviving terrorist groups in Syria is a Zionist project.
A statement by the Syrian Foreign Ministry - followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) - stated that "Foreign and Expatriates Minister Bassam Sabbagh received a phone call from his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, during which they reviewed developments in the region, especially the terrorist attack led by the terrorist Al-Nusra Front on Aleppo Governorate and its countryside in northern Syria."
Minister Sabbagh pointed out that "this terrorist attack comes within the framework of serving the goals of the Zionist entity's project and its sponsors in the region," stressing that "Syria has always warned of the blatant coincidence between the Zionist entity's attacks on Syria and the attacks launched by these terrorist groups in Syria," stressing that Syria, its people and its valiant army will continue to confront them with all determination.
For his part, Minister Araghchi stressed that "the revival of terrorist groups in Syria is a Zionist project," renewing Iran's continued support for the Syrian government, people and army in combating terrorism and maintaining regional security and stability.
