PM Receives a Delegation from International Crisis Group

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, received the President & CEO of International Crisis Group, Dr. Comfort Ero and her accompanying delegation.
 
During the meeting, the regional and international issues were discussed, emphasizing Iraq's role in fostering dialogue and contributing to calming the situation, especially concerning aggression against Gaza.
 
The Prime Minister emphasized that Iraq has become a key player in finding solutions, highlighting the progress made on the democratic path. He called on international organizations to genuinely recognize the achievements made in Iraq across various levels.
 
  Al-Sudani underscored the significance of the upcoming provincial council elections, emphasizing their role in exercising constitutional rights and strengthening decentralization in Iraq. He noted that the government currently benefits from broad support from a coalition of Iraqi national political forces, encompassing all components of the Iraqi people.
 
Regarding the developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, Prime Minister Al-Sudani expressed concern about the international community and the Great Powers not adequately fulfilling their responsibilities to halt the aggression on Gaza. He emphasized that the ongoing events are an extension of years of racist policies by the occupying entity, persistently violating international law and United Nations resolutions.
