National Intelligence Council (NIC) stressed On Sunday, the importance of legislating the Cybercrimes Law.
The media office of the National Security Advisor stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Today, Sunday, the National Intelligence Council held its thirteenth session headed by the National Security Advisor, Qasim Al-Araji, and in the presence of all intelligence agencies the Council discussed the topics on the agenda, and took... The necessary decisions and recommendations thereon."
The statement added, "The Council discussed the topic of (fighting terrorism... reality and ambitions) and also discussed (the topic of electronic blackmail... facts and challenges), and issued the necessary recommendations regarding it, to strengthen the measures taken in this regard."
According to the statement, the Council stressed “the importance of legislating the Information Crimes Law, to reduce cases of blackmail and protect society from negative phenomena."
The Council praised "citizens' cooperation with security services to enhance city security and maintain societal peace."
