The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi called on, Sunday, UK to take a responsible position on Zionist violations of international laws.
Media Office of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohsen Al-Mandalawi received, today, the ambassador of the United Kingdom to Iraq Stephen Hitchen and his accompanying delegation" , indicating that "during the meeting, they discussed, the latest developments at the political level, the bilateral relationship between the two countries and ways to develop in various fields, in a way that enhances the volume of cooperation between Iraq and the United Kingdom to achieve common interests and benefit the future of the two friendly peoples".
The statement added that “Al-Mandalawi discussed with the ambassador the overall situation in the region, especially what is happening in Palestine".
“Al-Mandalawi stressed the need for Britain to take its responsible role as a major country within the international community in stopping the aggression on the Gaza Strip, especially since there are flagrant and gross violations of international laws by the Zionist occupation army, as well as the continued killing of civilians would destabilize regional stability” the statement added
