Iraq condemns the Israeli Minister of Finance statements regarding the Palestinian people

Iraq condemned the statements of the Israeli Minister of Finance regarding the Palestinian people.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahhaf said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA that "Iraq expresses its condemnation regarding the statements of the Israeli Minister of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich, in which he denied the existence of the brotherly Palestinian people, and also condemned his use of a map of Israel that includes borders from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Palestinian occupied lands."

"We affirm Iraq's rejection of the incitement rhetoric and all practices that contradict the human and moral rights of the Palestinian people, and as we call for the need to contain these developments that carry serious repercussions. Iraq renews its firm and supportive position for the Palestinian people, and their right, which will not be forfeited by statute of limitations," he stressed.

He pointed out that "the language of systematic violence perpetuated by the usurping entity, Israel, predicts more tension and reinforces a climate of tension, which will only lead to growing escalation and aggravation without reaching any solution."
