The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, affirmed on Saturday the government's determination to rebuild Iraq within a road map based on several phases.
The Prime Minister said, in an article published in Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, according to a statement by his media office, which was received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): In the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the former dictatorial regime. It was due to decades of oppression, tyranny, mismanagement, and acts of aggression against Iraqis and Iraq's neighbors.

He continued, “It’s time to heal the wounds and move towards a prosperous future for this nation that deserves the best”.

“Our nation has been patient; we sacrificed and offered martyrs to liberate the people and the land from the evil of terrorism and tyranny. Our country managed to draft a constitution that made the Iraqi people, men and women, its primary focus, paved the way for building a citizens' state, and secured the country's sovereignty, independence, and unity.”

Al-Sudani added,” Our people are waiting for the developmental renaissance, for they see its potential in their country. We do not lack human resources, scientific competencies, natural wealth, or strategic geographical location. We lack deliberate planning and practical programs and the will to implement them firmly in all sectors.”

“ We have developed a comprehensive program to address the most pressing problems. We endeavor to remove the obstacles and combat financial and administrative corruption, which we see as a major impediment to development. That is why on our first days in the government, we targeted the cores and the means of corruption everywhere,”

He also added," I look forward to the support and assistance from all good and diligent people to stand by the state and its institutions in combating corruption that is no less dangerous than terrorism. We are determined to rebuild Iraq based on a clear vision and a road map that relies on success in several phases.”

“We started the first phase by mobilizing the state's capabilities to advance construction, economic reform, and fighting poverty, as we clarified in our comprehensive government program in which we set priorities”.

The prime minister also affirmed,” The second phase focuses on economic, human, military, and security development. The calamities the Iraqi people faced and the suffering of all social components have increased their faith. Our Iraqi identity is a solid bond that must be adhered to. Sub-identities cannot substitute the national identity and the inclusive Iraqi home.”

PM AL-Sudani stressed, “Iraq today is a reconciled community and is at peace with others. It does not want any harm to others and will not allow anyone to attack its territories. We look forward to productive cooperation with all friendly countries and international organizations to overcome the planet's common challenges in terms of environment, climate change, desertification, sand and dust storms, water scarcity, rising temperatures, pollution, diseases, poverty, and deteriorating public services.”

“We are aware of the seriousness of these challenges and seek to build partnerships and solidarity between countries to confront them. Iraq opens its arms to every good relationship and partnership in security, economy, or environment sectors. We urgently need to diversify sources of national income instead of relying almost exclusively on oil revenues to provide our federal budget, and we must reinvigorate agriculture, industry, tourism, trade, and other sectors,”

He also mentioned,” We have developed plans to encourage domestic and foreign investment projects and opened the doors to investors and entrepreneurs based on a well-thought-out plan and promising opportunities. The reconstruction and investment movement will need a more trained workforce and build more capabilities. We launched an advanced program in this field called the Pioneer Initiative for Development and Employment (Riyadah) to help young people gain the necessary expertise and skills. We also focused on building military and security capabilities.

“Development is only achieved via national and regional stability. For national stability, we must establish the rule of law and bring all arms under state control. We will not tolerate any use of weapons by entities other than the state's security and military services. For regional and international stability, we endeavor to build regional and international partnerships. Iraq's strategic location, geopolitical importance, natural resources, and influence in the global economy enable Iraq to play a significant role that befits its real size,”

Al-Sudani confirmed,” Iraq's good relations with brotherly and friendly countries paved the way for building bilateral and multilateral partnerships with many countries. We still have ahead of us many opportunities for building such relations. Today is an excellent opportunity to launch a comprehensive national campaign for building, reconstructing, and developing public services nationwide. With the help of our people, partners, and friends, we will build a strong and capable Iraq for the coming generations, and we will achieve this in our plans, which we call "Iraq 2050."
