Al-Sahhaf: Iraq has informed Libya of its desire to reopen its embassy in Tripoli

    The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, confirmed today, Thursday, that the Libyan side had been informed of Iraq's desire to reopen its embassy in Tripoli.

    Al-Sahaf told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein instructed an Iraqi diplomatic delegation to go to Libya, headed by the head of the administrative department, Ihsan Allawi, and with the membership of each of: the assistant head of the Arab department, the advisor Muhannad al-Mayahi, the assistant head of the protocol department, the advisor Azhar Ali, and the assistant Counselor Muhammad Abbas Mohsen, head of the legal department, Ahmed al-Sahhaf, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Hussein Makki, assistant to the head of the financial department.He added, ".

    He added, "The delegation also met with the head of the Protocol Department, Taher Hussein, the head of the consular department, Najat Masoud, and the head of the Arab department, Ismail Habib, in the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The delegation held detailed dialogues with the heads of departments, revealing Iraq's support for international efforts to restore security and stability in Libya, and the adoption of The political option that meets the aspirations of the Libyan people.

    According to Al-Sahhaf, the diplomatic delegation also visited a number of diplomatic missions accredited in Tripoli, including: the Dutch, Pakistani, Korean, and Palestinian embassies. They discussed the situation in Libya and ways of coordinating all future steps to enhance diplomatic cooperation on everything that strengthens relations and serves common interests.

    He stated, "The diplomatic delegation also held multiple dialogues with representatives of the Iraqi community, and listened to their requirements in the field of work to provide passports and work to enhance response in consular work."
