President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, announced Sunday the launch of the "Afforestation of Beloved Baghdad" campaign, indicating that the campaign aims to support the development of the environmental and agricultural level of the capital.
The Presidency of the Republic stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the campaign (the afforestation of beloved Baghdad) to plant trees in the capital, was launched under the auspices of the President of the Republic, Abdul-Latif Jamal Rashid, at the intersection of the Jadriya-Saydiyah Bridge."
It added, "The President of the Republic planted a tree to mark the launch of the beloved Baghdad's afforestation campaign, which aims to restore interest in the environment, climate, and agriculture as Baghdad's vital role, as well as to raise the aesthetic value and reduce pollution rates in the capital, Baghdad."
In turn, the President of the Republic affirmed that "the launch of the campaign (Afforestation of beloved Baghdad) comes in support of developing the environmental and agricultural level of the capital, and to preserving a sustainable environment and climate that secures a healthy life for the citizen, present and for future generations."
