Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, chaired the third meeting of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, the Association of Iraqi Banks, and government financial agencies and departments; The General Commission for Taxes and the Iraqi Customs Agency, as well as the Border Crossings Agency, the Central Bank of Iraq and Iraqi Trade Fairs.

During the meeting, they discussed the developments in the economic situation throughout Iraq. They followed up on the US dollar exchange rates following the Council of Ministers' approval of the Central Bank's decision to reduce the official price of the dollar.

The meeting focused on discussing the mechanisms used to implement the decisions of the Council of Ministers in the financial sector and the implementation of the directives issued in the previous meeting.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of continuing to hold these meetings to overcome obstacles facing the private sector, which the government considers an essential partner in executing its strategic programs and projects.

Al-Sudani emphasized that the wheel of economic reform is moving forward in Iraq, which is one of the priorities of the government's program. He also stressed that the bet on going back and practicing smuggling and violating laws and instructions is a losing bet. The government and all its competent agencies will firmly confront all smugglers and speculators, and whoever obstructs the course of reform harms the Iraqi economy and affects the livelihoods of the Iraqis.
