Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani confirmed Wednesday, that the government program includes the construction of roads and bridges in Baghdad and the provinces, noting that the government has given the Ministry of Reconstruction the required allocations to deal with the so-called "roads of death."
Al-Sudani said, in a statement to a number of media outlets, including the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "today the Dora-Yusufiya expressway was opened, after it was one of the lagging projects, but with the efforts of the Ministry and the supporting authorities, this work has been completed as required," indicating that his road will definitely contribute to reducing traffic congestion.
He added, "The governmental program in our government includes, within the services axis, the construction of roads, overpasses, and bridges in Baghdad to deal with traffic congestion," noting that "the so-called death roads will be rehabilitated by preparing plans at the provincial level."
He continued, "The government has granted the required financial allocations to the Ministry of Construction and Housing and granted powers, and it will start announcing the most important projects to relieve congestion."
Regarding the encroachment on agricultural lands, the Prime Minister affirmed that "there is a clear encroachment on agricultural lands that belong to the state," pointing out that "legal measures will be taken against the trespassers."
