The Media Office of the Prime Minister Prime said in a statement received by the Iraqi news agency (INA) that Al-Sudani, received today a letter from the Chancellor of Germany, Mr. Olaf Scholz, handed to his Excellency by the German Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Martin Jaeger.
The statement added “In his letter, Mr. Scholz expressed his thanks for the productive meeting with the Prime Minister on January 13, 2023, and his happiness in deciding on a joint work program between the two countries to coordinate future work in Iraq regarding projects and initiatives.
Al-Sudani expressed on his thanks the German Chancellor for his letter and affirmed Iraq's willingness to work jointly with Germany. His Excellency pointed out the formation of a committee from the ministries and relevant authorities to coordinate with the German side on various projects, in addition to the Iraqi-German joint committee.
For his part, the German Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Martin Jaeger, noted that the Federal Republic of Germany had formed a committee in Berlin chaired by the German Foreign Ministry and the membership of the relevant German authorities to work on the Iraqi-German action program, noting that the formation of such a committee in Germany is not a very common thing, to demonstrate Germany's interest in cooperating with the Iraqi government.
