Iraq and US discuss cooperation in countering terrorism and extremism

    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein discussed with the US Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowsky, cooperation in the field of countering terrorism and extremism, as well as the visit of the Iraqi delegation to Washington.

    Hussein received on Wednesday, the US 
    Romanowski as they emphasized on the depth of the relationship that binds Iraq and the United States in addition to its development in various fields for the benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples, according to a statement by the ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    They highlighted the cooperation in the field of countering terrorism and extremism, easing tensions in the region via dialogue, confronting economic fluctuations, protecting the environment and adapting to climate changes that have become an existential crisis, as Iraq and the countries of the region are among the countries most affected by the crisis of the climate.

    He noted, "The two sides discussed the upcoming visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein, who is heading a high-rank delegation of economic and political officials to Washington, and the program of work and meetings to discuss political and economic issues, in addition to aspects related to the Iraqi and US currencies."
