President Rashid receives a number of ambassadors of EU, US and Canada to Iraq

    The President of the Republic, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, confirmed on Monday, that the Iraqi government has an ambitious ministerial program to improve the reality of services, rebuild and rebuild the infrastructure, while indicating that there are plans to re-work and rehabilitate factories and laboratories and attract investors.

    A statement by the Media Office of the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated, "The President of the Republic, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, received at the Baghdad Palace a number of ambassadors of the European Union, the United States and Canada to Iraq."

    The President of the Republic affirmed that "Iraq is keen to develop its relations with the countries of the European Union, which are based on respect, mutual understanding and common interests," noting that” Iraq is looking forward to more cooperation and communication in many vital fields." 

    The statement added, "The leaders and presidents who were met on the sidelines of the Arab Summit Conference in Algeria and the Climate Conference in Sharm el-Sheikh affirmed their support for Iraq, and their desire for it to play a greater role at the regional and international levels, and they also expressed their happiness with the recent elections and the positive indicators that resulted in the formation of a national government.

    President Rashid spoke about "participation in the Davos Economic Conference, and the discussions he and the Foreign Minister held that dealt with the situation in Iraq and the economic challenges it faces, as well as the climatic and environmental impacts, high temperatures, and ways to reduce the repercussions of climate change through meetings with a number of Leaders, politicians and economists.

    It stressed, "The Iraqis have the determination and will to overcome the remnants of the past and their suffering caused by wars, conflicts and violence, and set out to achieve their aspirations for a decent life."

    Iraq has today enjoyed security and economic stability, which are suitable conditions for developing the country and providing a decent life for its people.

    The President of the Republic expressed his "thanks and appreciation to the German government for the German Parliament's (Bundestag) approval that what ISIS terrorist gangs committed against our Yazidi people is considered a crime of genocide," stressing that "this is something important for us."

      In turn, the ambassadors renewed "their countries' support for Iraq, and extended their congratulations for its success in organizing 25 Gulf Cup championship and winning its title, and this is evidence of the tangible development of Iraq during the past two years."

    On the sidelines of the meeting, the latest political developments in the region and the world and the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian war were reviewed, where the importance of securing food and energy trade was emphasized in a way that achieves food security, stability and peace.
