The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah, condemned Today, Sunday, the insulting of the Noble Qur’an in front of the Turkish embassy in Sweden.
Abdullah stated in a tweet, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We condemn, in the strongest terms, the insulting of the Noble Qur’an in a painful way, and we denounce the abhorrent behavior of an extremist who deliberately burned the Holy Qur’an, in front of the Turkish embassy in Sweden."
He added, "We call on the Swedish government to hold extremists accountable, punish them with the law, and present an official apology to the Islamic nation to prevent the recurrence of these shameful acts and not to provoke the feelings of Muslims."
