Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed Tuesday, not to allow the use of Iraqi lands to threaten Iran's security, while indicating to the agreement with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to activate the Joint Economic Committee.
PM Al-Sudani said in a press conference held with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in Tehran, attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that his visit to Tehran came at an official invitation to discuss bilateral ties," noting that relations in all fields and conditions in the region will be discussed.
He added that Iraq does not forget Tehran's support since 2003 and the war against Daesh terrorist gangs, affirming that the visits are necessary to activate work in all fields. He also said that the economic file is of great importance to the government, that an agreement with the Iranian president was reached to activate the Joint Economical Committee.
Al-Sudani appreciated Iran's position on supporting Iraq in gas supplies, clarifying that relations and cooperation in the field of security of both countries were discussed.
He also mentioned that the government is obliged to implement the constitution and not allowing the use of Iraqi lands destabilize security in Iran, noting that we rely in our foreign relations on the principle of mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs.
