The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, confirmed today, Friday, that the Iraqi embassy in Ankara is following up on the situation of Iraqis in the Turkish state of Duzce, after it was subjected to aftershocks.
Al-Sahhaf said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Ankara is following with great interest the events of the aftershocks that occurred in the Turkish state of Duzce, and out of our concern for the safety of our citizens, the embassy formed a delegation to the aforementioned city, to meet with the competent Turkish authorities, and to be reassured.
He called on citizens to "commit to the safety instructions set by the relevant Turkish authorities."
