The Prime Minister and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, issued 10 instructions to all security services, to deal with the demonstrators and provide them with protection.
According to a document issued by the Office of the Prime Minister, the Iraqi News Agency (INA) obtained a copy of it, that the Prime Minister, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, issued instructions to the security services to deal with the demonstrators and secure the necessary protection for them.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, issued directives to provide protection for the demonstrators.
The Security Media Cell stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi affirms the right of peaceful demonstrations that the constitution guarantees their practice within the framework of the law," calling on the demonstrators to "cooperate with the security forces in preserving state institutions and property."
The Commander-in-Chief stressed, according to the statement, the previously issued instructions that the security forces should fully protect peaceful demonstrators, stressing "preventing the use of gunfire and other illegal methods in dealing with demonstrations."
