President salih: It is absolutely essential to resolve the current political deadlock through dialogue

 The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed on Wednesday, the need to develop for clear solutions that preserve the interests of the country and citizens, while stressing that the continuation of the status is unacceptable.

The Presidency of the Republic said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received today Wednesday met with the Chairpersons of the Iraqi Unions and Associations. The meeting was held at al-Salam Palace in Baghdad.”


The current political crisis that swept our country must be addressed through dialogue, President Salih said, while concerned parties should be encouraged to take part in it.


It is, therefore, the priority of the dialogue should be to reach on guarantee the Iraqi citizens' rights to live a life of freedom and dignity, and move ahead towards making reforms as well as promoting civil peace in the country, the President underlined.


To do so, the outcome of the dialogue should serve as a basis to chart a clear political trajectory and reach a solution that protects the country's supreme national interests and assures the Iraqi that their demands and aspirations will be met, he added.


 The ongoing situation of political tensions can't be sustainable, Iraq's Barham Salih emphasized, while flaws should be addressed. He noted that the will of the Iraqi people must be respected as it is the only way to steer the country out of the current political crisis.


Furthermore, he went on to say, Iraqi Unions and Associations, and social and civil actors play an important role in the country, especially in the face of the current political stalemate.


He added that it was essential to secure Iraqi citizens' rights and ensure security and stability in the country and work towards remaining on a peaceful track to overcome the present challenges.


  President Salih and his guests concluded the meeting by speaking about the politics in Iraq and reviewing suggestions for searching for ways out of the current political crisis, thereby strengthening national unity, protecting citizens' interests, overcoming problems, and bridging the gaps.
