The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Monday, that the current developments in Iraq are an internal matter, noting that the Iraqi currents are able to overcome this stage.
Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said in a press conference followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Iraq is a significant and important neighbor country, and we follow up and monitor developments in Iraq carefully."
Kanani stressed, "Iran has always emphasized stability, and believes that the security of Iraq is the security of Iran and the region."
He stressed, "The current developments in Iraq are an internal matter, and the Iraqi parties and currents are able to overcome this stage," noting that "we respect the decision of the Iraqi people and believe that dialogue is a solution to problems."
