The Leader of the Sadrist movement Sayyed Muqtada al-Sadr sent on Wednesday, a message to the protesters.
“Muharram revolution is a revolution of reform and rejection of injustice and corruption," said Sayyed Al-Sadr in a tweet on his Twitter account.
He added: "Your message has been delivered, dear friends, pray and return to your homes safely."
Earlier, The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, called on the demonstrators to withdraw immediately from the parliament building.
