Bryson: Iraq has the basic elements for the transition to a green economy

    The British Ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson Richardson, confirmed today, Friday, that the United Kingdom will support the climate change mitigation program in Iraq, while noting that Mesopotamia possesses the basic elements for a successful transition to a green economy and addressing the risks of climate change.

    Ambassador Richardson told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We commend the Iraqi government for its leadership and advice to achieve climate security," noting that "without this leadership, the future of many Iraqis will be at risk.".

    Richardson added, "The Iraqi government made courageous commitments at the 26th session of the climate conference held in Glasgow last year," stressing "the need for the Iraqi government to continue making these commitments at a conference for the next 27th session, and the document of national contributions must be specific." in climate change and as ambitious as possible because it is essential to support Iraq in confronting and addressing climate change.".
