Al-Kadhimi returns to Baghdad after concluding his official visit to Saudi Arabia and Iran

    Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi concluded his official visit to The Islamic Republic of Iran, and Saudi Arabia.

    The media office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Al-Kadhimi concluded on Sunday evening his official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, to which he arrived from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."

    Al- Kadhimi had arrived in the Saudi city of Jeddah on Saturday evening, and was received by The Crown Prince of the Kingdom, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, where they held a meeting in which they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and promote economic integration, and discussed a number of topics relating to the region.

    The meeting witnessed an affirmation of Iraq's prominent role in the region and its efforts in achieving calm and constructive dialogues.
    Al- Kadhimi performed Umrah rituals in the Holy City of Mecca.

    After concluding his official visit to The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Prime Minister went to The Islamic Republic of Iran on Sunday afternoon and was received by the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.

    After the official reception ceremony, the two sides held a meeting in which they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the joint cooperation in various fields. They also discussed a number of essential issues of common interest, especially with regard to the regional situation.

    Iraq's role in the region was commended for the efforts in consolidating peace which enhances Iraq’s regional and international status.
