Minister of Culture: Memorandum of Understanding between Iraqi Museum Administration and its Iranian counterpart

    Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Hassan Nazim discussed  on Sunday, ways of cooperation between the Iraqi and Iranian museums, exchanging experiences and using  the technologies in museum.

     
    The ministry stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Nazim paid a visit to the Iranian National Museum in Tehran today, and reviewed its exhibits of antiquities and manuscripts, back to different stages of Iranian civilization."
    "The minister, accompanied by the head of the General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage, Laith Majid Hussein, and a number of the ministry's general managers, toured the halls of the museum, which is one of the most famous museums in the world,"the Culture Ministry.

    "During the visit, they discussed ways of cooperation between the Iraqi and Iranian museums, exchanging experiences and employing modern technologies in museum work, and exchanging scientific and development visits between the cadres of the two institutions," it added.
     
    For its part, the administration of the Iranian Museum expressed, according to the statement, its full readiness to cooperate with the Department of the General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage in all aspects of the museum work and to conclude memoranda of understanding regarding this vital sector.

    The Ministry of Culture indicated that, “The National Museum of Iran, which contains nearly 300,000 antiquities pieces spread over an area of more than 20,000 square meters, is one of the most famous museums in the world in terms of its area capacity, diversity and quality of its huge monuments, as well as being the mother museum in Iran.” It aims to preserve the effects of the past and pass them on to future generations and provide a better understanding among the peoples and countries of the world, and the role of these monuments in shaping global culture and civilization and trying to enhance public knowledge.”
