Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahaf announced that the Ministry has addressed the Ukrainian foreign ministry concerning the issue of the missing Iraqis.
Al-Sahhaf told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kyiv is preparing notes to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to inquire about the latest information obtained regarding the missing members of the Iraqi community," noting that "the embassy approached the Ukrainian universities and asked to wait regarding the demands for tuition fees due to the circumstances.”
He added, "The embassy is still communicating with the competent Ukrainian authorities to offer assistance and provide the necessary facilities to some members of the community who requested this from the embassy," noting that "the embassy's hotlines are still working, receiving calls and answering inquiries on a daily basis."
Al-Sahaf confirmed that "the whereabouts of the Iraqi community in Ukraine are in the cities of (Kyiv, Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, Zakarpattia, Uzhhorod, Ternopil, and a few of them in Poltava)."
