Al-Zamili: The fact-finding committee on targeting Erbil will present its final recommendations to the Parliament

    The First Deputy Speaker of the parliament, Hakim Al-Zamili, confirmed today, Monday,  that the fact-finding committee on targeting Erbil will present its final recommendations to Parliament for a vote.
     
    The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the parliament stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that " Al-Zamili, chaired today, a meeting of the Parliamentary Fact-Finding Committee tasked with investigating the recent missile targeting of Erbil Governorate," noting that "the meeting was held in the presence of the deputy chairman of the parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah, and all the members of the committee."
     
    The statement added, "During the meeting, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Undersecretary of the Intelligence Service, and a number of security and intelligence leaders were hosted."
     
    Al-Zamili said, according to the statement, that "The parliamentary committee, visited the site of the accident and met the owner of the targeted house and the neighboring buildings in Erbil," noting that "the committee held two meetings with KRG interior minister, Riber Ahmed, and relevant officials in Baghdad and the region, with the aim of gathering accurate and necessary information that would expedite the inclusion of the final recommendations and present them during the parliament session and take the appropriate official stance and send it to the government.
     
    Al-Zamili explained that "Iraq's relationship with neighboring countries is good and based on the rules of good neighborliness, cooperation and mutual respect," stressing that "there is a set of agreements and close security relations with neighboring countries."
     
    Al-Zamili stressed "The need to resort to official correspondence in the event that any files and important security intelligence information are available between all the countries concerned, and not to military force and violate the sovereignty of countries under any title, name or circumstance."
