Iraq does not threaten neighboring countries, first deputy speaker of parliament, Hakim Al-Zamili said Tuesday, adding that Iraq has good neighborly relations with all neighboring countries.

"Iraq is generally targeted by many countries, because some of these countries do not want stability for Iraq," Al-Zamili told the Iraqi News Agency upon his arrival in Erbil today at the head of a parliamentary delegation.

"Neighboring countries must understand that Iraq does not threaten them, but is open to them for investment and work," he said, adding that "all neighboring countries are respected by us."

"Iraq owns the decision and this is the direction of all Iraqis who refuse to have our decision linked to any country," Al-Zamili said, adding that "any Iraqi does not accept the targeting of his land and his people."

"We refuse targeting any Iraqi inside Iraqi territory, and parliament will have a clear position," Al-zamili said, adding that "the current term of parliament is different from previous ones.”

"There are coordination committees between the parliament and the Kurdistan Regional Parliament," he said.
