Ministry of Youth and Sports unveils Monument of the late Ahmed Radi

    The Minister of Youth and Sports, Adnan Darjal, unveiled a monument erected in honor of the late footballer Ahmed Radi in the courtyard of Al-Shaab International Stadium, which is sculptured by the, artist "Fadil Mesir".
     
    The Ministry said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Oil Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar, the Mayor of Baghdad Alaa Maan, the head of the Olympic Committee, Raad Hamoudi, The head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Muayyad al-Lami, and a number of athletes along with the family of the late, fans and the lovers of the legend player."
     
    The statement quoted the Minister of Youth, Adnan Darjal, as saying: “This step is a small part of repaying the debt to honor the legend of Iraqi football and the late gull of Asia, Ahmed Radi, who raised the name of Iraq high in various international forums,” noting that “the status and popularity of the creative star will remain a footballing symbol. We are proud of his legacy, and it will always receive the utmost attention and appreciation.”
