Head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, confirmed on Thursday that bombing the Green Zone would effect the prestige of the state.
Al-Hakim said, in a tweet on "Twitter", followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "bombing the Green Zone, endangering the lives and properties of civilians, and targeting diplomatic missions inside it, is a condemned and reprehensible act.".
He added: "This act would erode the state's prestige and destabilize its image in front of world public opinion, especially since our country is going through a sensitive and dangerous political turning point, and these actions increase the complexity and confusion of the scene."
