Syria shows keenness to continue developing joint work with Iraq

Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi received on Wednesday, a congratulatory message from the Speaker of the Syrian People's Assembly, Hammouda al-Sabbagh, on the occasion of his re-election as Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament during the fifth session.

"I am pleased to extend to you on my behalf and on behalf of my fellow members of the People's Assembly my warmest congratulations on the occasion of your re-election as Speaker of the Parliament for the brotherly Republic of Iraq, wishing you continued success," said Al-Sabbagh in the congratulatory cable, according to the media office of the Speaker of Parliament, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

He added, "We in the People's Assembly, as we congratulate you for the confidence of your fellow members of the Parliament as we affirm our keenness to continue developing and strengthening joint parliamentary work with the distinguished Iraqi parliament, for the good and interest of our parliaments, our two countries and our two brotherly people,"
