An Iraqi-Egyptian meeting discusses the water file and climate change

    Minister of Water Resources Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani discussed today, Tuesday, with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Baghdad, Walid Muhammad Ismail the file of water and climate changes.
    The ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Minister of Water Resources, Mahdi Rashid Al-Hamdani, received the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Baghdad, Walid Muhammad Ismail," noting that "the meeting dealt with discussing cooperation relations between the two sides in the field of water resources to enhance, develop and benefit from of the Egyptian experience in the field of utilizing sewage water, in the presence of the Ministry’s Administrative Undersecretary, Raed Abd Zaid Al-Jashaami.
     Al-Hamdani stressed during the meeting, according to the statement, "Iraq has sought to activate and expand the range of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries to exchange experiences and activate the work of the joint committees between the two sides for developing the water resources sector and facing challenges in light of the acceleration of climate change and its effects on the countries of the world and the region."
    For his part, the Egyptian ambassador valued "the efforts made by the minister to advance and develop the ties of cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the water resources sector."
