Al-Kadhimi emphasizes the importance of benefiting from Italy's experience in fighting corruption and organized crime

    Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi stressed today, Thursday, the importance of benefiting from Italy's experience in fighting corruption and organized crime networks.
     
    The media office of Prime Minister said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi received, today, the Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio, and his accompanying delegation," noting that "during the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, ways to develop them in various political and economic areas and the field of the war on terrorism".
     
    The statement added, "The development of the relationship between the two countries in the security field and the training of Iraqi forces under the framework of NATO were also discussed, especially after the transition of the with the international coalition role to a non-combat one," explaining that "the meeting discussed cultural cooperation within the framework of UNESCO, and through communication between Italian universities and institutions and their Iraqi counterparts".
     
    Al-Kadhimi stressed "The depth of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Rome, and the aspiration for more joint cooperation," stressing "the importance of benefiting from Italy's experience in combating corruption and organized crime networks."
     
    For his part, the Italian Foreign Minister affirmed his country's support for Iraq and its government, lauding "the Iraqi government's efforts to bring views closer and enhance local and regional stability, and the repercussions of these steps on the international stability."
