The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers clarified on Tuesday, the special procedures for starting al-Sadr City development project.
The spokesman for the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, Haider Majid, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): " "The committee supervising the development project of al-Sadr City is awaiting the completion of the the designs by the consulting companies that have been assigned to this subject," noting that "when the designs arrive and then are approved, after which a draft contract is prepared and the contract is signed after selecting the Chinese companies that will implement this project.”
Regarding the project of building model school buildings, Majid stressed that "the project is a national project, as it includes 7,000 schools," noting that "the first phase of the project includes building 1,000 schools during the current year."
