Documentary films embodying the lives of rural women in Maysan

    Director Jassem Al-Ansari from Maysan Governorate is preparing for an international experience through a youth competition in which more than 900 directors participate and is supported by international organizations  . 

    Al-Ansari told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) about his experience: "In my work, I deal with real stories that reflect the realities of life in the countryside and its inhabitants, who carry in their eyes a well of secrets and tales, and these tales narrate events that follow hundreds of years ago ." 

    He added, "He is in the process of directing two films, the first of which is rural women and the challenges of tribal norms and arbitrary rulings against women, and the second film is about violating children's rights to education and putting them into grazing livestock, forcing them and their parents because of the living reality that has besieged their dreams for many years  ." 

    Al-Ansari also won fifth place in the three-minute competition in three days, which is held with the support of (Human Rights) of the United Nations Mission in Iraq, for the movie (The Secret of Existence), which was produced in 2019 and revolves around a young Sabian man of Mandaean religion who loves music and is exposed as a consequence Harassed by an environment in which he lives, he categorically rejects music and views it as a violation of norms and traditions and a religious violation. 

    Despite this, this young man was able to convince others of what he loves and continued his career, and the first piece of music he played was the anthem My Hometown (Mawtani), the idea of the film by Muhammad Khazali and the script Directed by Jassem Al-Ansari and starring the talented young man Haider Al-Iraqi, and he is representing for the first time, the film is short for three minutes, and it was completed in four days .
