On Tuesday, German Football Association director Oliver Bierhoff announced the exclusion of five players from the national team, after Bayern Munich defender Niklas Zule was confirmed to have contracted the Corona virus, before the “Manschavat” guarantor of his qualification for the World Cup Qatar 2022 was confirmed in the last two rounds of European qualifiers.

In addition to Zulh, his colleagues in the Bavarian club, Jamal Musila, Kimmich and Serge Gnabry, as well as the Austrian Salzburg player Karim Adeyemi, were forced to leave the headquarters of the “Mannschaft” group in order to quarantine themselves in their homes.

Nine players traveled on the same plane that took Zole to join the team’s camp in Wolfsburg, while four of them were allowed, without disclosing their identities, to stay on the condition that they quarantine themselves away from the rest of the group for a certain period.

And the German National Football Association announced earlier on Tuesday that five players from the national team are subject to quarantine, after one of them was confirmed to be infected with the Corona virus. The federation stated that the infected player had fully received the anti-viral doses, and was not showing symptoms at the present time, without specifying his identity.

For its part, the daily Bild confirmed that the injured player is Bayern Munich defender Zule.

The federation added that four other players were asked to self-quarantine, after it was proven that they were in close contact with the infected individual, although the results of the tests they underwent were negative.

Bierhoff regrets what the national team is going through, considering that “this news, before the last two rounds of European qualifiers for the World Cup finals, is bitter for the coaching staff and for Mannschaft as well.”

Germany will play its two matches against Liechtenstein on the 11th of this month, and then Armenia will be at the latter three days later, and it is the guarantor of its qualification to the finals. Germany leads its tenth group with 21 points after winning seven of its eight matches, eight points ahead of Romania, the second, two rounds before the end of the qualifiers.

Germany is suffering from a recent increase in the number of people infected with the “Covid-19” pandemic, as the rate of HIV infections for seven days hit a new record on Tuesday.

This issue also highlights once again the refusal of Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich to receive the vaccine, with the questions being asked by Bild about what this means for the unvaccinated player.

Kimmich, who held the captaincy of “Manchavat” in qualifying recently, sparked a sharp controversy in the country last month when he revealed that he chose not to receive the vaccine, due to “personal concerns”, prompting Interior Minister Horst Seehofer to urge him to reconsider his position because “” Vaccination is the main weapon in the fight against the epidemic.
