France-Germany joint participation in Tigris Nights Festival, a first

    French Ambassador to Iraq, Eric Chevalier confirmed on Wednesday, that France is participating in the Tigris Nights Festival jointly with Germany for the first time.
     
    "For the first time, France and Germany have jointly opened a festival under the name of Tigris Nights. The festival's activities will continue from 5th until the 7th of November," said Chevalier in a press conference on the sidelines of the Tigris Nights Festival for short films, in the presence of the Iraqi Minister of Culture, Hassan Nadhim, the German ambassador, Martin Jaeger, and attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    He added that "the participating works amounted to 6 French, 6 from Germany and 16 Iraqi works. 6 of which were presented to Iraqi committees," noting that "the first decision he took after assuming the position of the ambassador in Iraq as an opening of the French Cultural Institute for joint cooperation with Iraq,"
     
    "France has many artistic activities in Iraq and held a number of plastic exhibitions. There is a cultural project for poetry and novels, and an exhibition called Baghdad Night and Day," he revealed.
     
    Chevalier expressed, "France pays great attention to the Iraqi antiquities and heritage sector,"
