MOFA: A Request concerning Iraqis stuck in Belarus borders

Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, announced on Saturday, that a request was submitted regarding the Iraqis stranded at the Belarus borders.

“At the direction of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Poland calls on the Polish Red Cross to reach Iraqi asylum seekers stranded on Poland's eastern border with Belarus,” said Al-Sahaf in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

He added, “And to provide urgent assistance to save their lives,  enable embassy delegations to complete the procedures for proving pastoralism and issue temporary passports to them to facilitate their voluntary return to Iraq,”
