The Independent High Electoral Commission confirmed, today, Wednesday, that the election results are subject to change, while indicating that it was not affected by any pressure.

The Director of the Media and Mass Communication Department at the Commission, Hassan Salman, said in a statement to Al-Iraqiya News, and followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the preliminary results were announced for the existence of a binding decision to announce results within 24 of the elections,” noting that “the results are subject to change and the final results must be awaited after deciding appeals".

He added, "The results changed yesterday after adding the results of stations, and this is normal," noting that "the Commission will not be affected by any form of pressure, and the electoral process did not resemble a defect, and no red complaints have been registered so far regarding the voting process.".

He explained that "Article 38 of the electoral law obliges the commission to choose a station from each center to conduct a manual counting process.".

Salman indicated that "the commission did not hide any votes," noting that "there are 8,547 stations whose results have not been sent and will be added."
