Foreign Minister and Kuwaiti counterpart discuss Iraqi elections relations between both countries

    Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein discussed on Tuesday with Kuwait's Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nasser al-Mohammed al-Sabah the Iraqi elections and the depth of joint relations between both countries, while the two sides stressed the importance of exchanging visits and continuing meetings of joint committees to resolve outstanding issues.
     
    "Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein met with his Kuwaiti counterpart Ahmed Nasser al-Mohammed al-Sabah on the sidelines of his participation in the non-aligned movement countries meeting and celebrating the 60th anniversary of the movement's first conference, which is currently being held in Belgrade, Serbia," the ministry said in a statement received by the official Iraqi news agency INA.
     
    "During the meeting, regional and political developments in the region were reviewed, with the minister presenting a review on the progress of the electoral process, as well as the depth of relations between the two brotherly countries," the statement said.

    For his part, al-Sabah stressed "Kuwait's support for Iraq," referring to "Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi's visit to Kuwait, as well as sheikh Sabah al-Khalid al-Hamad al-Sabah's visit to Iraq and his participation in the Baghdad Conference on Cooperation and Partnership, wishing Iraq and its people prosperity and progress."
     
    "The two sides stressed the importance of exchanging visits and continuing joint committee meetings to resolve outstanding issues," the statement said.
