The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, congratulated all the winners of the elections, while affirming his strong aspiration for a parliament that expresses the will of the people.

"I give my warmest congratulations to all the winners of the elections and the leading blocs, and we look forward to a parliament that expresses the will of the people and responds to their aspirations for reform,” said Salih in a tweet on his Twitter account, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), on Monday.

He added, "As well as, to work on forming an effective government that protects the higher interests of the country by consolidating a capable state that serves the people and protects their sovereignty,”
