Arab League Mission on Elections Observation confirmed on Monday, that the voting process was smooth, noting that it monitored the complete security of electoral polling centers in Iraq.
“The voter registration process was sufficient and lasted for 3 months, as took place in accordance to the legal framework. The registration period for candidates was sufficient too and continued for a period of 3 months as well,” said the Assistant Secretary-General and head of the delegation of the Arab League delegation to monitor the parliamentary elections, Ambassador Saeed Abu Ali, in a press conference held in Baghdad and followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Abu Ali added that "the electoral campaign period lasted for more than 3 months, which is sufficient," noting that, “We monitored the complete security of electoral centers in Iraq and we value the role of the security forces, as we noted the presence of local and international observers during the electoral process,”
“The voting process was smooth and the entry of voters took place regularly,” he stated.
