spokesman for the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Maj. Gen. Yahya Rasul, issued an announcement on Sunday concerning Sunday’s flights over the capital Baghdad and a number of provinces.
"The air force aircraft will fly over the skies of a number of provinces tomorrow at an appropriate altitude, which may lead to hearing sound of these aircraft," Rasul said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"These flights are observatory flights to provide air cover for protecting the general voting process," he said.
