The Ministry of Interior held a security conference in Anbar, today, Thursday, in which it focused on the project of community reconciliation and restoring social harmony after the city was liberated from ISIS terrorism.
The ministry's spokesman, Major General Khaled Al-Muhanna, said in a press conference attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the security reality of the governorate in the conditions of its liberation from terrorism was discussed, while the conference proceedings were informed of the post-liberation challenges."
He added, "The Anbar Province Police Command is one of the exemplary and important leaders, and it had a pioneering and major role in liberating areas from the filth of ISIS terrorist gangs."
"After liberation, it also had a great role in establishing security, which reflected positively on the overall security situation and reconstruction," he added.
Al-Muhanna pointed out that "the Anbar Police Command has implemented all arrest warrants for the past four years, in addition to other achievements in pursuing the remaining ISIS terrorist elements."
In turn, Anbar Police Commander, Lieutenant General Hadi Arzij Kassar, indicated that a large number of terrorist elements and sleeper cells had been arrested in the Heet and Fallujah regions, stressing that “all citizens now residing in Anbar Governorate have their security information documented in order to leave room for strangers and intruders to organize sleeper cells and mix with citizens righteous ".
Regarding the post-liberation challenges, Arzig said: We expected that major crimes would take place, which is the taking of revenge for those who caused the killing, devastation and destruction, "explaining" that we had succeeded in the issue of societal reconciliation and restoring harmony. "
