Al-Alaq discusses UN resolution to punish Daesh for its crimes in Iraq
The Secretary-general of the Council of Ministers Dr. Mahdi Alak presented on Monday, with the Executive Director of the Institute for international law and human rights “William Spencer,” the latest developments in the implementation of the UN resolution punishing ‘Daesh terrorist gangs’ of the crimes they have committed in Iraq.
A statement by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers on Monday, the Iraqi News Agency (INA), a copy of “Al-Alaq received the Executive Director of the Institute for international law and human rights, Mr. William Spencer, and listened to the latest developments on the implementation of Security Council resolution No. 2379 on terrorist gangs accounting archives for the crimes committed in Iraq, including crimes that may rise to the level of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.”
Al-Alaq, according to the statement that “the support of the Government of Iraq in the arrangements on mutual legal assistance”.
On his part, Spencer drew attention to “the importance of the involvement of Iraq in the implementation of Security Council resolution through the formation of a specialized team, which includes the most prominent judges forensics experts to work side by side with international experts, to support efforts to prosecute members of terrorist gangs wall and the collection, preservation and storage of evidence in Iraq for crimes which may amount to war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity”.
